CliniCare Plus+ Your health in our hands

What is the CliniCare PLUS+ programme?

The CliniCare PLUS+ programme is an affordable area based health care programme developed by FITMed24 which focuses on providing high quality primary health care and medication to company employees, middle and low income earners in a designated geographical area. It is designed for companies and private individuals who are unable to afford conventional day to day primary healthcare through medical aid schemes.

FITMed24 provides primary health care services which fall within the South African Governments’ definition of primary healthcare. The CliniCare PLUS+ programme does unfortunately not provided specialist healthcare such as, pathology, radiology, optometry or hospitalization.

Currently FITMed24 can only provide these services for individuals within the greater Ekurhuleni through our Kempton Park clinic.

What is primary healthcare?

Primary health care can cover the majority of a person’s health needs throughout their life including prevention, treatment and rehabilitation care.

Primary healthcare services include:

  • Diagnosis, treatment and care of people with health problems
  • Early intervention
  • Chronic disease management
  • Promoting good health
  • Preventing future health problems

How can MyCare PLUS+ benefit my company?

This product is designed for companies who are unable to afford conventional medical aid or medical insurance for their employees, but who want to protect their employee’s physical health and wellbeing.

The company simply signs up the employee for a monthly fee, and their employee will begin to receive unlimited access to clinic nurses, clinic associates and doctors at the designated clinic.

All clinic visits include the following:

  • Unlimited visits to the clinic by company’s employees
  • Unlimited medication for the treatment of primary health illnesses and diseases for the employee.

Advantages for a company

By appointing FITMed24 as the organizations preferred healthcare service provider, will promote increased productivity and decrease absenteeism. The employee will no longer be dependent on overcrowded and failing government clinics to seek medical treatment when required.

Through the CliniCare PLUS+ programme the employee receives immediate (same day) medical attention and medication for diagnosed conditions. If required the employee is booked off duty to recover within a reasonable time frame in order to recover and return to the workplace.

Contrived illnesses are a problem for most organizations. Contrived illness absenteeism causes interruptions to daily operations and more so, financial losses to the employer. Employees often seek questionable medical practitioners at a cost, to acquire fraudulent sick notes in order to avoid work for whatever reason. By appointing a “GO TO” medical service provider for their employees, the employer regains control over employee down time.

IOD (Incidents on duty)

Incidents on duty which require immediate emergency attention can be treated at the clinic. Should injuries exceed the scope of practice or be of a serious nature, FITMed24 will stabilise the patient but will request that the employer move the employee to a hospital to attend to the employee’s injury. All organizations must ensure their workman’s compensation cover is up to date for workplace injuries. FITMed24 does not provide transport to the local hospitals in case of an emergency.

Drug testing

Should the employer suspect the employee of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs whilst on duty. Rapid alcohol and drug screening tests can be conducted at the clinic and results are recorded.

Can I join as a private person?

A private individual may also sign up for the CliniCare PLUS+ programme. The private individual may sign up as the main member alone, or sign up their entire family on the programme. There is no age restriction for the main member or their dependants. These dependants include a spouse, infant or child. A structured fee applies to each member. Children over the age of 18 are considered adults within this programme.

The CliniCare PLUS+ programme is also ideal for individuals who only have hospital plans and who require ongoing primary health care treatment beyond their hospital cover. Some medical aids provide small savings portions which could rather be used for pathology, radiology or optometry if required instead of doctors’ visits and medication.

All clinic visits include the following:

  • Unlimited visits to the clinic by the main member and their dependants
  • Unlimited medication for the treatment of primary health conditions for all members on the plan.
